The four primary ingredients of concrete are:

However, to change selected characteristics of concrete and expand on its usefulness, we use a variety of additions:

	Accelerators are used to speed the set, primarily in cold weather
	Retarders are used to delay set time in warm weather
	Plasticizers are used to increase the flowability of concrete
	Synthetic fibers are used to minimize shrinkage and reduce cracking

In addition, various reinforcements make concrete even stronger, more stable, longer lasting and noise-resistant than it already is!
