Form-A-Drain: It's About Time
ConRock is proud to offer the Form-A-Drain® foundation footing system. Manufactured by Certainteed Corporation, Form-A-Drain is a permanently installed system that:
Forms footings
Drains foundations, and
Provides a sub-slab perimeter radon evacuation system.

What is Form-A-Drain?
Form-A-Drain is an alternative to traditional footings for residential construction. The Form-A-Drain system is composed of 12 foot' PVC lineals (available in a range of heights), and a variety of fittings and accessories, incorporating a drainage system into the footing construction. The system is permanently installed, becoming part of the foundation.

The lineal pieces are joined with couplings and corners, incorporate spacers to minimize measuring time, and can be used with single and double drainage outlet units, accommodating nearly any foundation layout. PVC components will not sage or crimp. Form-A-Drain is also an effective method of reducing radon, since it is a sub-slab perimeter system that forms a complete loop around the foundation.

Why Form-A-Drain?
The Form-A-Drain system comprises three separate functions:
Acts as forms for concrete footings,
  Drains foundation,
Provides sub-slab perimeter radon reduction system.

By incorporating these functions into one system, Form-A-Drain is a cost effective alternative to pouring traditional footings and installing drainage and radon evacuation. Form-A-Drain benefits include:
System remains in place, eliminating the cost of building, removing, cleaning and transporting forms.
Dry fit joints reduce form setup time.
Lightweight components reduce risk of injury and require less manpower.

Form-A-Drain Construction
When site preparation is complete, the contractor begins with a rough layout of the required number of lineals, couplings and corners. Lineals are cut as they are laid, with a hand saw or power saw, to ensure proper dimensions on site.

Leveling can be accomplished during or after assembly. Spacer straps (available in various lengths) are used during assembly reduce measuring time. Drainage outlets are added per plans in compliance with local codes and regulations.

Concrete is poured into the Form-A-Drain, and screed off as in traditional pouring. Stone can be placed before or after pouring, but the Form-A-Drain stays in place!
