How Can Concrete Paving Actually Help to
Raise the Water Table?

Answer: By Utilizing PervaRock in lieu of asphalt or traditional concrete paving.

PervaRock is our unique brand of pervious concrete. Pervious concrete is similar to standard concrete, but actually consists of 15%-30% void spacing. The large percentage of air voids allows rainwater to easily penetrate the pervious concrete and infiltrate back into the aquifer, where it belongs. Additionally, bacteria that reside in the concrete void spaces actually break down harmful pollutants and chemicals as they percolate through the concrete.

The financial benefits of utilizing PervaRock are as obvious as the environmental benefits when you consider the value of the work that goes into stormwater management on a typical project. As any developer or engineer can attest, governmental regulations and good environmental practices dictate that strong consideration be given to stormwater runoff on all projects. Typically, either a costly underground storage detention facility or a large pond(s) must be installed to contain rainwater runoff from the parking area. However, PervaRock allows a large percentage of the rainwater to infiltrate back to the aquifer, negating the need for stormwater storage structures. This frees up valuable real estate to use for purposes other than stormwater management.
